Monte and Mom’s

Monte here:
I ’ve been tossing discs around since I was 11, and for 31 years I have been in love with this sport.
“Mom’s Thoughts” and “Monte’s Thoughts” for us to offer our thoughts and feelings, experiences, memories, inspirational quotes, scriptures and even bits of our lives that we would like to share with you all.
I have been in some of the darkest places that one can go to in my life. The extreme depths of my own dark choices led me down these ways. It took a very tragic and traumatic moment to change me and turn my feet from the dark paths that I chose to tread.
I made the choice to take the opposite road after I was struck by a car while standing outside of a friend’s home. I vowed then, that I was going to step out of the darkness and see just how brightly I can shine.
In Genesis chapter 1, it says that “God created a greater light and a lesser light”and he also made the stars. Isaiah talks about the stars being the people, and we all brighten and shine our own lights.
This is why I choose to wear bright colors on the course. I want to stand out as brightly as Christ does for us all. So let’s shine to the best of our abilities!
I know that none of us are perfect. But that doesn’t mean that we can’t strive to find our Perfect Paths.
So, I will continue striving to find my path, both in life and on the course.; a path that is in line with Christ’s Perfect Path in life, and on the course, I will keep striving to throw a Perfect Path.
So without further ado, it is my pleasure and honor to introduce you to PERFECT PATH DISCS!

Mom's Thoughts
My son and the perfect path:
As we all know, God is the only one that was perfect. God gave us His path that we could follow. I cannot even tell you the path Monte has been on!
As we all go through the hills and valleys of life, we find ourselves at the bottom with no where to look but up. When Monte decided to follow God‘s path, his life turned around. Ask Monte about how far the east is from the west. It is incredible for a mom to see this in her child! As I go and watch him on the field of play, his form is precise, his endurance amazing and the feeling that I get to watch him throw is beyond words.
A lot of you know me as “Mom” and as I walk the disc golf course, I can hear the calls of “hey Mom” and it warms my heart! I have traveled all over the United States watching disc golfers play their game. But I get to see my son letting his LIGHT shine and living his dream. If you haven’t walked the course with the players, you should. It is an amazing to experience.
If you have thought about playing, do it! if you need someone to show you how, Monte is willing to do that. He’s always there to help. Hang in there son and enjoy the journey, have fun, and keep taking your perfect path.
